Our Story

7C Barndominiums wasn't born in a boardroom — it was born from a flood, a bad contractor, and a family who decided to do things differently.

Conroe Floods turns into Barndominium Success Story

Where It Started

In 2018, our family experienced the same thing thousands of families across Montgomery County did — our home in Conroe flooded, more than once over the years that followed. Like so many of our neighbors, we turned to a contractor to help us rebuild. Instead, we got taken advantage of. Money was collected, promises were made, and the work never happened the way it should have.

We weren't the only ones. Watching so many of our neighbors go through the same thing — desperate to rebuild, and preyed on by contractors who didn't care — was the turning point.

Levi's father had spent over 30 years working in electrical, deeply rooted in construction long before any of this happened. With that experience already in the family, Josh and Brandy Curnel decided enough was enough. They started helping neighbors rebuild — honestly, transparently, and the way it should have been done for our family in the first place. That work became 7C Construction.

Then We Became the Customer

Years later, Josh and Brandy bought land in Huntsville with a plan of their own: build a barndominium.

Even with decades of construction experience already in the family, they ran into something they didn't expect — how difficult it was to get real, straight answers about barndominium construction. Information was scattered, incomplete, or held back entirely. Contractors were vague about costs. Basic questions went unanswered. If a family with construction experience struggled this much to get honest information, we couldn't imagine how hard it must be for everyone else.

Building that home themselves made one thing clear: there was a real need for a contractor willing to teach, not just sell — someone who'd answer the questions other builders wouldn't.

Why 7C Barndominiums Exists

That experience became 7C Barndominiums. We built this company around the same principle that started 7C Construction back in 2018 — honesty first, transparency at every step, and treating every client's project like it's our own.

Today, that means walking you through real costs instead of vague estimates, answering questions before you even have to ask, and making sure you understand your barndominium build from raw land to move-in — not just handing you a contract and disappearing.

Come See It in Person

We opened our barndominium showroom right next door to 7C Construction in New Waverly, so you can see finishes, materials, and design details in person before you commit to anything. No pressure, no sales pitch — just a chance to see what your build could actually look like.
